Travel journalist Isabel Conway, co-founder of Travel Times has won the overall Travel Writer of the Year award. She also took the long haul award at the hotly contested annual Travel Extra travel writer Oscars that coincided with the country’s top vacation event Holiday World Show in Dublin. The overall award (sponsored by the Spanish and Lanzarote Tourist Boards)was for a portfolio of travels throughout 2019 spanning four continents which included a three-day horse trek in the Canadian Rockies wilderness, published in the Irish Daily Mail. Isabel won the long haul award (sponsored by Cassidy Travel) for a travel feature in the Business Post about her journey around the former hermit kingdom of Uzbekistan, only now opening up to tourists as an exciting new Silk Road destination. Over 500 entries of work published in leading national newspapers and magazines were judged by a distinguished panel of journalists.  It is the third time since 2011 that Isabel Conway

has been named Ireland’s Travel Writer of the Year.  Her prizes for the 2020 win were a 5*hotel stay for a week in Lanzarote for two plus European city break.
