Whilst travel is on hold, the German National Tourist Board has made it possible to #DiscoverGermanyFromHome on a new interactive microsite
The website features several unique virtual experiences and virtual travellers will be able to try classic German recipes, enjoy fun knowledge tests, check out playlists, highlighting the best of German music, and visit Germany via a large selection of 360° virtual tours. A highlight of the site is the new “Dream Now – Visit Later” video, featuring aspects of dreams changing from creative sketches and paintings into a living reality, hoping to inspire travelers to let their German travel dreams become reality when travel abroad is possible again.
Germany’s Top Virtual Attractions
Visit the opera or explore some of the top museums and art galleries – all 16 federal states have contributed to a comprehensive list of virtual experiences, cultural offerings and an extensive concert calendar to enjoy online. Especially exhilarating are virtual 360° walks through Bremen’s medieval Schnoor Quarter or a walk through the Dessau UNESCO listed parks and gardens.
German Chart Toppers
Whilst Kraftwerk’s Autobahn or Nena’s 99 Red Balloons are some German tunes also famous in the UK, there is a lot more to German music. To make the lockdown more exciting and to discover the world of German music, the GNTO has published four exclusive playlists on Spotify. Listeners will be able to choose between classical music, German Schlager (modern folk music), electronic, dance or the latest Rock & Pop chart-toppers.
