Cork Airport has received Europe wide awards for being customer friendly and easy to access..Now another string to the bow of Ireland’s second largest airport, Cork has emerged with an on-time performance of over 80 per cent, making it Ireland’s most punctual.
The Global aviation analysts OAG has revealed that Cork Airport topped the punctuality league for Ireland’s international airports last year ,with an on-time performance of 80.2 per cent.
Serving 2.4 million passengers last year, the airport recorded growth of 4.2 per cent thanks to new seasonal and year round routes opening up numbers are set to rise by 7 per this year.
Cork Airport’s managing director Niall MacCarthy pledged they will maintain key aspects of what passengers love about the airport – ease of access, award-winning customer service, minimal wait times and good punctuality.
“Over 50 routes are now on offer from Cork Airport across the UK, continental Europe and the east coast of the USA and we are committed to continue this growth throughout 2019” .
Ryan Air has added five new routes flying from Cork, available next summer and serving routes across France, Spain and Italy such as Barcelona, Girona, Bordeaux, Carcassonne and Milan Bergamo. Other new routes to Budapest, Malta, London Luton, Naples and Poznan in west central Poland are opening up new accessible destinations easing travelling time for the Munster region.
