We know the stories of enterprising farming couples branching into everything from bespoke weddings in the cowshed, organic food production, gin distilleries and everything in between. Here’s a couple who saw an opening for a luxury travel operation , looking beyond the hedges and scenic hills of their West Cork farm holding.
Ireland Luxury Travel was co – founded by husband and wife team Naomi & John from small beginnings. Starting as a local travel consultancy service for referrals and international travel agents, the company has grown and developed to become a successful travel service providers in the niche, Irish private bespoke travel industry.
They run their specialised travel consultancy business from their small office in Skibbereen and their home office in the picturesque setting of their traditional farm. With their three small kids, two Connemara ponies and a herd of limousine cattle, they reach out to their international clients while enjoying their rural lifestyle.
NAOMI SHEEHY, Owner of Ireland Luxury Travel
Naomi was a lawyer for five years before leaving the law business to follow her love of travel and the lifestyle on the wild Atlantic coast of Ireland. Originally from the south west of Ireland, leaving Dublin City where she studied and worked was an easy move. She has travelled all over South America and Europe and many years ago spent a summer in Boston, USA.
Her family have operated a tourism / heritage centre from a 13th Century Castle which they restored in the 1990’s and she has worked there as a tour guide, event organiser and marketer from the very beginning.
Naomi knows travel is more than a vacation, more a life enriching experience. Co-founding Ireland Luxury Travel with her husband John has allowed her to continue her love for travel. She explores as much of Ireland as she can at every opportunity and has developed a huge knowledge of the country. Professionalism and attention to detail are vital, she says and the company set out to achieve those objectives.

The other half of the partnership is her husband John Sheehy, a third generation farmer at his home, Creagh Farm in West Cork. He produces top quality limousine and Aberdeen Angus beef for the local beef market, as well as organic fruit and veg for his family. He understands how Irish food can be built further into one of our top visitor attractions while John considers Ireland Luxury Travel he has co-founded with his wife Naomi as a natural progression, looking forward to promoting travel to and around Ireland bursting with special experiences.
