America has some of the most popular and highly regarded golf courses in the world. From the Augusta National to Pebble Beach, there are 100s of iconic golf courses dotted around the states.

Five of the Most Underrated Golf Courses in the USA

Atlanta Country Club

Atlanta Country Club is a private golf club in the southeastern United States, located in Marietta, Georgia, a suburb northwest of Atlanta. Golf at the country club is taken very seriously and would be considered the beating heart of the club.

The course at Atlanta Country Club would for certain be considered world-class. Since 1968, Golf Digest and other distinguished national publications have consistently ranked as one of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.”

Atlanta also is recognised for hosting many PGA and USGA consistently over its time. The inaugural Tournament Players Championship, the USGA Women’s Amateur and Senior Men’s Amateur were also held at the Atlanta Country Club.

LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort

On a white-sand beach overlooking Vanderbilt Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, this high-end golf resort is a mile and a half from Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park.

Naples in Florida, where the course is placed, is one of the world’s top golf vacation destinations. The course at LaPlaya is an 18 hole links course that features lush fairways, strong rolling hills and meticulously manicured greens that wind around 14 lakes and water features.

Aspen Lakes

Aspen Lakes is a privately owned, public golf course at the base of the Three Sisters, Central Oregon’s volcanic peaks.

Aspen Lakes golf course is a favorite among visitors and locals alike. The first nine holes were constructed in 1996 under the watchful eye of World Class golf course architect William Overdorf, a well known designer of golf courses.

Since the course opened, it has generated world-wide acclaim. It has received recognition from Golf Digest as the number eight “Best New Affordable Course” in the United States.

Colorado Golf Course

Colorado Golf Club is a golf club located in Parker, Colorado which is southeast of Denver. Designers Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw had complete judgment over the 1,700-acre property, which they describe as ‘gifted for golf’. They take golfers on a journey through forestry, scenic hillsides, rugged barrancas and open meadows.

The Quarry at Giants Ridge is a gorgeous golf course in Northeast Minnesota.
